On Saturday we finally got to sleep in, and then we decided to head to the closest beach, called Amager Beach, with two of our German friends; Kathrine, and Alina. The beaches here I would say are a lot like those of California, but just with my less wave activity and clearer water. It felt almost like we were at a beach by a lake. Eventhough the sun was coming in and out, the beach was packed with people because it is summer time in Denmark, and when it is summer time in Denmark, everyone is outside.
We were there for a few hours and then headed back to our apartment, but figured we would stop at one of our friends dorms on the way back. These dorms have been named the "coolest" dorms in the world. Take a look.World's Coolest Dorm We had heard there was a party going on there, but we didn't know to what extent. The party had started at 11 am and lasted til 1 am the next morning. Each kitchen is shared by 12 people, and there are about 20 kitchens in the complex. The party moved from kitchen to kitchen, each one having its one theme and drink. For example, there was a wedding theme where the girls of that kitchen dresses in white and through rice on you as you walked in the door (like flowers) and they handed out champagne. There was tropical theme were we did the limbo, prison theme where they made prison bars with black streamers. Each elevator was serving drinks at different times in the day.
I got to meet alot of Danish people my age which was great because I hadn't had that opportunity thus far. My language program is all international students, but obviously no Danes.
Another great day in the great city of Copenhagen
