Day 2 of Class: King's Garden, Harbor Pool, etc.

Second day of class was just as hard, but came away with two important phrases in Danish.

First, we learned to say, " Kvor hedder du?...Jeg hedder Erik." Translates to "What is your name? My name is Erik," The next important phrase was, " Kvad kommer du fra? Jeg kommer fra California" Which obviously translates to "Where are you from? I am from California." But the most difficult part about Danish is that most of the words do not sound like they look. For example, "Kvad" is pronounced like "va" and "hedder" is pronounced like "hilla". These three weeks will be interesting.

After class, the majority of the international students headed to King's Gardens, which is a popular park in Copenhagen. Once the private gardens of King Christian IV at the Rosenborg Castle, we socialized with everyone, playing games, etc. We played this game called "Kubb" which involves two teams with different wooden sticks trying to knock over the opponents sticks. Not the best description, but awesome game, that is actually a 1000 year old viking game. Kubb

After the festivities in the park, Anton and I headed to one of the Harbor Pools in Copenhagen which was amazing. The harbor water is so clean in Copenhagen that you can swim in it. There is a large block that you can jump off into the water as high as 15 feet. They even had a mobile sauna there that was free.

That night we got together with a large group of international students at one of the dormitories called the Keops and then a lot of us went out to the bars together. Another amazing day in Copenhagen. Love this city!
